ELECTION DAY 2012: TRUE OR FALSE
Election day today, I stopped by the Whitehead voting place at the Whitehead Community Center that once was the Whitehead School. I've given this vote much thought, not about who to vote for, but whether or not to vote. I see voting since the so-called Patriot Act, the constitution for police state, a sham used to keep we-the-powerless-meat-people believing we still have democracy, to keep the American Fantasy full of hot air. I came to see voting as a social act in the world of people I live among who continue to believe we have democracy, and I see myself wanting democracy back, so I vote to be one digit that says I want democracy. The thought that set me into action more than any other was thinking if I don't vote I've not cancelled a republican vote, meaning I give the republicans one vote I might have cancelled. You see, I'm not a democrat or libertarian or communist or anything organized. I'm a single-digit anti-republican. Democrats are not anti-republican enough to suit me. I vote democrat because they are the only opposition. A vote for a libertarian is a vote for a republican by not adding one more to the count against the republicans.
The election results are coming in now. In an hour or less the West Coast voting establishments will be closed. I don't want to hear this state and that state and the building of the drama. I'll wait til after midnight and see what they're saying. Then wait til morning to get the news that the republicans are calling on the anti-democracy supreme court to nullify the election results and make the losers the winners again. It's what they packed the court with "wingnuts" for. There will have to be some kind of republican chicanery before the counting is over. I saw Mitch McConnell on 60 Minutes Sunday, not because I was interested to hear what he had to say that was totally predictable, but because I wanted to see him talk. I wanted to see his face when he lied and only lied. I saw a tight-lipped smart-mouth pudgy little brat. I looked at him as someone I was meeting the first time, thinking if he were face-to-face talking to me at the coffee shop, I wouldn't believe a word he said and I'd be feeling to see if my billfold was still in my pocket. Another republican parrot. Willful ignorance out in the open, paraded and bragged upon. The image about Fox News above that I found on facebook tells it best of all the "memes" I've seen that are anti-republican, many of them awfully funny.
Yesterday on YouTube I saw that blond airhead "commentator" from Fox talking with Bill Maher. I don't ever see her, because she talks republican parrotry that is too predictable to be entertaining or interesting in any way. She was retarded. She reminded me of the woman I heard on a call to the 911 phone on YouTube wanting the highway department to move the "deer crossing" signs to places with less traffic. Ann Coulter is her name. I had to go to YouTube and look up the video I saw to get her name. Pathetic where intelligence is concerned. She might have passed a lot of tests and done well in school as a robot student, but it certainly shows she never learned a thing about thinking for oneself. She's the blond parrot. She looked like a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader gone to seed, and struck me the female counterpart of Rush Limbaugh, propagandists to the gullible. That the press takes Romney seriously and half the population does too, brings to mind every time I think about it, Gore Vidal saying, "When Americans don't recognized stupid, we're out of business." Yes, we are indeed out of business. My concern is that it looks more like Americans do recognize stupid. Stupid is what they want in their representatives, at least half of them. Very odd. Half a century of television.
I'm seeing in this year's electioneering process the republican side with no apparent agenda, anything that comes up, no concern about being called continually on lies, blatant obvious lies. Commentators and the television/radio reporters act like Romney is actually speaking with substance, though they never talk about the substance. In the first "debate" Romney trumped Obama with ignorance, the Karl Rove trump card, absence of substance. It rattled Obama like it was intended by the master propagandist to do. The only reason I can find for why the republicans stood by this obvious serial liar Romney is because he was a white man. Liar identified his character a white man, verifying his allegiance to his skin color. The only republican agenda was get-the-nigger. It went completely unsaid throughout the campaign, and understood by all in the white racist party. In their panic at the point where people of color outnumber white people from here on, I'm seeing White Man prefers racism to democracy. The South turned democracy aside after Emancipation because the black folks outnumbered the white folks. A serious threat. White folks aint having no nigras lording it over them. It aint gonna happen in America. Democracy is not that important. As we have seen.
I refuse to let myself get wound up with worry and hope for something I have no control over. I have seen that willful ignorance is what it takes to vote republican. This year's was the most interesting republican strategy I've ever seen. Obstruction by lies and using lies to catch the other off guard by ambush was the only strategy used. Lies and stupid statements were adhered to all the way along the campaign. Because they are lies and stupid. Lies and stupid made a great strategy against a man whose mind republicans can't out-smart, but Karl Rove knew how to trip him up and keep him off balance as much as possible by surprise attacks of stupid and lies. Romney was the perfect puppet to lie and talk stupid. It showed me that the people siding with these open liars, republicans, do recognize stupid when they see it. Stupid is evidently what they want. Gore Vidal thought Americans didn't want stupid, but it really looks like at least half of them actively want it. Even if Romney doesn't win, it's a really bad show that whatever percentage of votes go to Romney is too high a percentage for comfort. Considering however many people voted republican, we have that many people evidently wanting stupid with a passion. It's alarming even to have more than a handful.

LIES AS PARTY LINE
alexander liberman, omega
Anyone who can't help but see the world we live in (civilization) falling into chaos is laughing out loud this week at the republicans lining up behind junk science over rape now and women's reproductive organs as political agenda. Again. That's an automatic given. Junk science, absurdity and willful ignorance characterize the republican agenda every time. Every day on the news I think of what Gore Vidal said, "When the American people cannot recognize stupid, we're out of business." Half the voting population indicate over and over, every time a republican is elected, that we're out of business. Stupid is held up high as intelligence. When half the voting population votes republican, we're out of business. Not only does it go unnoticed that stupid has a negative value, who cares? Hearing the pols talking junk science as agenda this week reminds me of a statistic I found a year or so ago that only 10% of scientists are republican. They must be what's left of the pre-Reagan republicans unable to deny the scientific method.
Today I pulled into a parking spot next to a car with Virginia FoXX on the back bumper. I sighed a groan, willful ignorance out in the open. The woman attached to the car came to open the door and saw me, "HI TJ!" Eek, I thought, the second worst Reagan republican I know, the kind that makes my skin crawl the same way the two words der fuhrer make my skin crawl. Even worse, because this is the great American Democracy that Reagan republicans are systematically dismantling unto only the military left, police state. Enemies of the American people is what they are. That's the only way I can see it. Self-destruction is ultimately their preferred direction. OK by me, but why take all the rest of us with you? I appeal to the republicans to go ahead and self-destruct, get out of our world; please don't take us with you. Just go away. I fussed about inside the car, entering an address into the GPS device on the dash, focusing my attention on my new tech device. It's rude to interrupt somebody operating a new tech device. I waited for her to pull away before emerging from the safety of my mobile capsule. Phew.
I'm not like that with other people I know who are republicans. I can't help but see anyone who identifies himself/herself a post-Reagan republican as anything but a parrot. The republican party has become the same as the Baptist religion where you believe what you're told and don't think about it. Recite the verses---book, chapter and numbers to show you really understand. Polly wanna cracker, Ship ahoy! It's like to become a member you have to sign over whatever natural intelligence you might have to the Party Line. In the 1950s "Party Line" was reference to communist countries where they did the same thing; you talk party line to show your loyalty on the one hand and to stay out of trouble on the other. Now the republicans after half a century of McCarthyism have become what they hate. Same as the Baptists are becoming what they declare to hate. An ancient saying comes to mind: be careful what you hate because the hate draws it to you. Hate is a powerful attractive energy like love. This is my argument with my mother and her Baptist parrotry about me needing to focus more attention on Satan. I say, Go ahead, you do it for me. Lord have mercy.
The center doesn't hold any more. This, I suspect, is why people are clustering into hate groups everywhere, the republican party a half-the-population hate group, the people who say NO to the well-being of the working people and YES to the Wall St robber barons. I'm one of the working people who values the democracy republicans have been dismantling since Reagan's first day in office boasting he had a "mandate." 51% thanks to the cooperation of the Ayatollah bought with drug money from involvement in the Central American civil wars created by CIA. It has been increasing republican skulduggery, Kenneth Starr, Newt Gingrich, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, low-down weasel attitudes toward life, worse and worse since Reagan, all referring back to Reagan, W declaring himself, "I'm the new Ronald Reagan." He was. It was the only truth I ever heard him speak. Maybe he thought it was a lie when he spoke it, but it came true. After Reagan, we said, It couldn't get worse. Then it did when the Reagan supreme court placed the loser in the winner's circle. The entire Reagan influence has come from the dark side, characterized by nothing but lies and deception, taking from the working people and giving to the Bank. It's what they do. What we do as human beings in this world defines our character. Lying and deception defines a character I want nothing to do with.
I don't have any problem with somebody lying from feeling threatened, which can be something like stealing food when you're down and out and hungry. As soon as I find somebody is one to lie all the time, I steer myself around them like a leaf floating on the surface of a creek's water flow around a rock and over a rock on its way to someplace else. In a lot of social interaction between people who don't know each other very well much lying will be going on, but it tends to be what I'm coming to think of as fantasy creation. Like driving a car that's just a little bit more expensive than you can afford. Like the identity of your life being the party you went to on Erroll Flynn's yacht when you looked good undressed. That kind of lie I'm cool with. It's something of a logjam when I think of all the directions continuous lies come to us from. It's to the point that now we have the internet which we collectively agree is not necessarily accurate information coming from anywhere. Sometimes it is, but we're never sure. It's the same with the serial fiction called the News. We're probably in pretty good collective agreement that the news is fiction. It's just another tv show, one with commercials for Cadillacs.
It's become fairly clear by now that this house of cards that is the international banking system in sync with the political systems based altogether in lies, in denial, in self-centered unregulated greed siphoning off the top and trickling down the crumbs from the table for the dogs. Kinda like in the French Revolution time, but this time it's all the Western World. The Red Dragon has been here and gone. Destruction is the nature of its wake. I hear a reggae song in my head by Burning Spear, Babylon will fall, repeated as the chorus. Babylon is falling. It has been falling since 1980. Republican agenda has been to advance the fall. Ralph Nader felt no guilt being instrumental in setting up the situation that gave the supreme court the opportunity to show it's true intent to destroy our democracy through the legal system. He said, "The republicans will get us there first." There, being the total collapse from which we will have to pull ourselves together and set out on a constructive destination, because that negative republican destination took us to destruction. As Ronald Reagan promised he would do in his campaigning. It was a campaign promise he kept.
This and much more is why I am not a republican and have little tolerance for a Reagan republican. I know Babylon must fall and this is the time for it to fall. And Ralph Nader is right, the republicans are taking us there fastest. Like Nader, I'd rather see it sooner than later, while at the same time lament seeing the destruction of an intelligent form of government by massive ignorance. Der fuhrer destroyed Germany's government with ignorance. He was the same destructive energy as the dark cabal the republican party has aligned itself with. The fall is inevitable, it is prophesied, it is process of transition from one level of consciousness, getting the old one out of the way in the past like tearing down a building in a city to put up a new building. The old way doesn't work any more. It has calcified subject to human ignorance for about as long as a government can last in this time. A couple hundred years (1776 - 1980) for an attempt at democracy that got about as near to the ideal as the Soviets came to the communist ideal. I know that the Reagan republicans are doing us a favor tearing down the old democracy as it has to get out of the way for what is next. If the republicans have their way, it will be a formalization of the police state we already have. This is why zealous Reagan republicans give me the creeps. I know it is time for the destruction, but still I don't like watching it unfold. I should thank them, but I can't. I'm not that advanced.

PERIGEE FULL MOON HOWL
tea bag blinders
The Super Moon is at Perigee right now. I went out to have a look earlier, but the clouds were so thick and getting thicker that by the time the moon rose it was behind the clouds. Oh well. I was double-checking the good sense in making it a point to see something like that. It's cool. I don't often see the planet Mercury and when I do, it feels like a special moment, one of very few in my lifetime, two that I recall. In one way it seems boring to take an interest in seeing the moon when it's biggest in its orbit. In another way, it strikes me interesting to note such a thing about our earth's companion. I missed the Super Moon rise and never even got to see it in the sky. It's not like I've never seen the moon or that this night is more important a time to see it than any other. It's not. It's just one possible moment to see it, but not tonight.
Earlier, I put my copy of Lauryn Hill's mtv unplugged video into the dvd player. She was lovely. Then I put The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill on the sound system. In the time it was winning all the music awards, she said she recorded it for 500 people and it became a big seller and award winner. She seemed to be embarrassed by winning the awards. Like she said, This is Hip-hop, it's not supposed to get awards. She has had a major spiritual transformation, which I am guessing occurred when she fell in with the Rastafarian Marley family, marrying a son of Bob Marley, Rita her mother-in-law, living in Jamaica much of the time, raising her kids, being a mother and a wife. She came across to me someone on her spiritual path that runs through Rastafarian spirituality. She has the heart of a seeker. She found what she was originally searching for, and now searches for how to live in the world not of it. Now the joy of my world is in Zion. Going by what I saw of her in the concert, she has found her authentic self and with it her authentic way.
Heard on the news USA is pressuring India to stop buying oil from Iran. This gives good evidence that our government is beginning to meddle in Asia. Of course, there's no "beginning to" about it, as our government only meddles and all over the world. Now that they're planning an assault on Iran with Israel the cutting edge, urging Iran's Asian market for oil to cut back is meddling. No place in Asia is an automatic ally of the USA, certainly not after the Bush junta. British government is with the USA, but not the people. The American people, like people all over the world only want more money and more tv. Our government is a separate entity unto itself, a marionette show put on by manipulators from above, the 1%, who would have us all in prison to keep us under control if they needed to. We're so cooperative they don't need to put us in prison. Wave a dollar in front of our faces and we'll do anything. It's the American way. Money for us is the tin rabbit that leads a dog race. The love of money keeps us in motion.
We've only known Hillary Clinton in the foreground as a candidate, the educated woman republicans love to hate. She came across as progressive, leaning maybe one degree left of middle, and now it's comical to hear her as the voice of the post-Ugly American, the voice of the most powerful military force in the world, not necessarily a benevolent ally, and certainly not a friend of the people. Her voice will go on ringing in my head saying, Get with the system and you'll do all right. It's the system that more and more people want to stay out of. I've wanted to stay out of it all my life. I'd been convinced through school, church, parents and tv that I needed to live by the system. I tried it, because I didn't know how to do otherwise. The System spit me right out. I was a sour apple, only good for making hard cider. I've never been able to obey ignorance. I can if it's my own, but when it comes at me from outside myself insisting I obey, don't count on it. When true intelligence, like God, requires obedience, I'm right there. I like the Ben Franklin quote recommending we question authority. Those guys, the framers of the Constitution, were so left wing as to put Alice's Tea Party into a hissy fit.
One of our county commissioners is running for the district instead of the county this time, wanting to go to Raleigh as a Tea Party Parrot from Spartaritaville. I think it would be great if he won--get him out of here. He's a yankee anyway. He's also a little quick to accuse without evidence. Like the Sparta Revitalization Committee, he has no idea where he is. He wants to move to Raleigh after his divorce and "represent" Alleghany County. These are the kinds of jokes that "represent" us. A notice in the mail a couple days ago for a democrat whose name I don't remember running against Virginia Foxx. I didn't need to remember his name. I automatically vote against Foxx, so I'll be voting for him, whatever his name is. You see, I'm an Anti-republican. I vote against republicans. Seldom do I vote for a democrat when I vote democrat. I'll vote for anybody running against a republican. Reagan has shown us, and Bush came along to be sure we got it that the republican party has become the cancer within. Parrots jabbering party line. Liberals are evil. Liberals are evil. I don't vote for judges because they don't post their party allegiance. Rather than accidentally vote for a republican, I don't vote for judges at all.
Democrats are becoming such republicans I'm about needing to stop voting completely. I vote because I believe in the boycott of one. It makes no difference to Coca Cola Corp that I don't buy coke because they are known to have hired death squads in Columbia to kill union activists and their families. I boycott Coca Cola. It makes no difference to them, but it makes all the difference to me. When I drink a DrPepper I remember why I do not drink coke. My vote has about as much value as my boycott when it comes to persuasion in one way instead of another. I vote and boycott certain corporations knowing these gestures mean nothing outside myself. In myself is where it matters. When Bush bombed Baghdad, I had already entered my vote of disapproval. It is like having a clear conscience to know I voted against the usurper of the throne, who set out systematically to destroy the world's economy and set the whole of civilization into bottomless Depression. I voted against it twice with Bush, twice with Reagan, and every time I ever vote.
